How do I Start Solids?

How do I Start Solids?

Abbie @ MMB

I became a mom almost ten years ago, and my youngest just turned one. So I’m at the point in my life when I say things like, “They didn’t have all these cool things when I became a mom!”

However, since I have a new little one, I still get to try out these new gadgets and experience how some of them are beneficial when feeding a little one. Boon has created an amazing dispensing spoon called Squirt, which stores and dispenses food all in one container! It’s great for feedings on the go.

Another product I love from Boon is the Pulp Feeder, which helps babies as they begin to self-feed. It is made from food grade silicone, and allows small amounts of food to be eaten through the tiny holes, so baby gets just the right amount.

The EZPZ Mat is like a place mat and plate rolled into one! They are made of silicone and keep my little guy from throwing his bowl or plate of food on the floor. I love that they are dishwasher safe. Suction cup bowls are another great way to keep dishes full of food from flying across the room.

Wow Gear created these amazing 360 cups that allow baby to drink from all sides of the cup. My little guy prefers a straw, so we use the Zoli cup, which comes with a weighted straw that lets him drink from any angle—even when the cups is tipped!

I also love the new silicone bibs. These have a lip to catch all the food your little one inevitably drops, keeping clothes a little cleaner. Plus, they are dishwasher safe for easy clean up!

There are so many great new ways to help make it fun for little ones to learn to eat, while keeping messes to a minimum. Now the hardest thing to do will be deciding what to fix for dinner!
